S0 for the last couple of days Atlanta has seen some cold days and winter nights, we even got some light snow. So while I was trying to keep warm and enjoy the winter weather I took time to check some of my favorite blogs and sites, when I came across this new company called DimePiece.( http://www.dimepiecedesigns.com/PERFECT10/ )

I must say I was absolutely flawed by their designs. I can’t wait to summertime for it to warm up and I can rock some of their fabulous tees.
Designed by L.A. based duo Ashley Jones and Lara Fama, is "street chic" at its finest. With slogans like “Skinny Doesn't Always Win” and "Ain't No Wifey", this brand was created for the fearless fashionista in you. So, just what is a DimePiece?

"A DimePiece™ is a woman who appeals to her audience with genuine swag. She is a self-governing revolutionary who embodies all that is sexy. She proclaims her opinion and attitude through her adventurous dress. She is educated by the books as well as the streets. Our products are for all who want to make a statement and aren't afraid to leave the restrictions at the door. Lets be a go-getter, a kitten with claws, a fashion aficionado and a memorable individual who is essentially the perfect ten."

The Kitty & Dick Suite

Okay so this past week I attended Micheal Knights Kitty Litter review sponsored by Hennessy. It was suppose to be a fashion show for his new lingerie line Kitty & Dick, so I thought.

Hmmm, where do I begin? It was good to see the turn out was good for this show. Micheal Knight is an Atlanta home town hero. Even though he did not win Project Runway I believe he is a likable designer. And Atlanta loves some M. Knight. The venue was Opera which was absolutely gorgeous since it's own renovations. The place was packed with a host of local celebrities ranging from D. Woods from Piddy's Making the band, Joi, D blanks celebrity photographer. Even Princess from Crime Mob came out to show some support. Word on the street is Micheal Knight could be assisting Ms. Princess with her new image since Crime Mob is no longer.

While waiting for show time. I took the time to check out some of the fly fashions in the room. Atlanta has really upped it's game for fashion. And events like this brings it all out.

So the show starts and we are introduced to Kitty Litter, an all female dance sensation that is a mixture of Pussy Cat Dolls meets the fly girls. You remember the Fly Girls from In Living Color. I totally loved the choreography of the girls, but the show itself was flat. I thought I was going to see a fashion show with lingerie instead it was more like a cabaret show displaying what I think is lingeries. Truly nothing that I would wear, while in the bedroom so I don't quite get it.

The girls although lovely I found it hard to check out the outfits. There was special guest appearances by Joi, who did a cute little number entitled "Lick". I believe this might be some new music from Joi, Tennessee Slim herself. I hope so I like it. Tweet also made an Kitty Litter appearance. Although it was good to see Tweet perform since it has been awhile since she has graced us with her angelic voice, I was a bit disappointed that she did not wow me with some new material. But all the same she was looking beautiful as ever.

Besides seeing and meeting some new and faces. The event was a big disappointment for me. I was expecting much more from Micheal Knight. I still find it hard to believe that very much planning went into the event. The show lacked substance and the flow was slow going. Besides having to wait at 10 minutes between each performance and not knowing that Hennessey was providing free cocktails until about 2 hours after our arrival. I can say that in some weird way I look forward for what Mr. Knight will produce next. From what I am hearing is that Kitty Litter performance will happen every month. I guess we will have to wait and see.

The line, priced from about $45 to $450, is designed as both inner (inside) and outerwear with some costume touches added. It goes on sale February 14 at http://www.kittyanddick.com/.

New Year New Things

Good Morning my fellow readers, I know it has been awhile since I last posted. Well this Socialista has been on vacation. But now I am back and I am ready to keep you in the know about our wonderful city HotLanta.

So where will the Socialista’s like myself be hanging this week?

First stop, Six Degrees Magazine’s issue release party at Thrive. Remember I told you guys about this trendy hip spot a couple months ago for their Sushi Rock Tuesday events. Well if you haven’t had the chance to swing by yet this Tuesday January 8th will be your perfect opportunity to do so.

Six Degrees will be hosting their January issue party there. One of my favorite stylish reads. My advice get there early because this little hidden gem does not hold too many, but they do keep the free Sushi following and the drink specials are yummy.

Next stop, Michael Knight fashion show location to be announced. Mr. Knight I believe will showcasing his 2008 line. You remember him he was the contestant from Project Runway that made it to the finals, but did not get the title. Atlantan’s love him so go show your support for M. Knight.

On Thursday you can check out a night of eclectic and soulful music as New Orleans native Water Seed take the stage along with Alternative Soul Rock Entourage Edenrage featuring Chanda Mcknight. Special guest Okeeba Jubala ensures the night has a little of everything to offer as the styles range from jazz, funk, soul, and rock, to spoken word, acoustic and classical. $10.00 admission
